Bogus\u0142awa and Czes\u0142aw Kowalski – working together or independently over several decades – have won numerous awards and distinctions.<\/p>\n
Their earliest joint achievement was during their studies in March 1956, when they won first prize in a competition for set design for Leopold Staff’s “Godiva,” soon followed by the victory of this production at the nationwide festival of student theaters in Warsaw.<\/p>\n
The two most important awards that Bogus\u0142awa and Czes\u0142aw won together were the two-time victories in the nationwide furniture design competitions announced by the Union of Polish Artists and the Association of Furniture Industry in 1961-1963 and in 1973. Both awards resulted in subsequent generations of “Kowalski Furniture,” produced in millions throughout the country.<\/p>\n
For Czes\u0142aw, the Award of the City of Pozna\u0144 for achievements in interior architecture (1966) was certainly important, while for Bogus\u0142awa – several first prizes won at Cepelia competitions and Pozna\u0144 Trade Fairs for stylish furniture designs and “wooden accessories” (1970, 1973, 1974, 1977, 1978, 1979).<\/p>\n
